Plan a Great Day in London

/ Author: Chris Osborne

Ace Tennis Camps really enjoys showcasing London and the UK to all of our players each Summer. We spend a lot of time and effort planning great experiences for young people on and off the courts. So we thought we would give you a blog about a fun day you can have in London between now and the next Ace Tennis Camps.

Planning a fun day touring London for children can be an exciting and educational experience. Here's a suggested itinerary that includes a mix of cultural, historical, and entertaining activities:

Morning:

Breakfast at a Child-Friendly Café: Start the day with a hearty breakfast at a child-friendly café, such as The Breakfast Club or Cereal Killer Cafe, where kids can enjoy a variety of cereals and other breakfast delights.

Visit the Natural History Museum: Head to the Natural History Museum, a fascinating place for children to explore the world of dinosaurs, minerals, and wildlife. The life-sized T-Rex and blue whale model are sure to captivate their imaginations.

    Late Morning:

Hyde Park and the Princess Diana Memorial Playground: Stroll over to Hyde Park and visit the Princess Diana Memorial Playground. Kids can enjoy the huge wooden pirate ship, sand pits, and other play areas.

      Lunch:

Lunch at the Serpentine Bar & Kitchen: Grab a bite to eat at the Serpentine Bar & Kitchen in Hyde Park. They offer a kid-friendly menu and have a lovely outdoor seating area.

        Afternoon:

Visit the Science Museum: Head to the Science Museum, where children can engage in interactive exhibits and hands-on experiments. The Wonderlab is a must-visit for its interactive science shows and activities.

Explore the V&A Museum of Childhood: Take a short trip to the V&A Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green, where kids can explore a vast collection of toys, dolls, and games from various eras.

          Late Afternoon:

Camden Market: Take a short tube ride to Camden Market, a bustling and vibrant place. Let the kids experience the eclectic market stalls, street food, and perhaps buy some unique souvenirs.

            Dinner:

Dinner at Rainforest Cafe: Have dinner at the Rainforest Cafe in Piccadilly Circus, an exciting restaurant with an Amazon rainforest theme. It's an immersive dining experience that kids will love.

              Evening:

West End Show: Finish the day with a magical West End show. Choose a family-friendly production like "The Lion King," "Matilda," or "Aladdin" for an unforgettable evening.
