What happens if my child was to fall ill or pick up an injury during camp?
A.
A full time Nurse will be on site to deal with any illness and administration
of medication that is required including asthma.
Athletic trainers will also be available to help athletes with minor injuries
such as strains and pulls. A Doctor is 2 minutes away at all time in
Potters Bar.
Q.
Can I contact my child while attending tennis Camp?
A.
Certainly, all children are allowed to bring mobile phones, but they must
be kept in their rooms during the day. All rooms are WiFi enabled so
pupils may also bring laptops and therefore have email correspondence
to see how their week is going.
Q.
Are boys and girls in accommodation together?
A.
The pupils are in the same boarding house but males and females board
on different levels with no access to each others floors. The common
room areas are there for everybody to interact together under supervision
of staff.

How do I know my child will be placed in the right ability tennis group?
A.
All pupils will be informally tested on arrival to have an understanding of
their ability. The coaches and directors have many years coaching
experience to ensure that everybody is learning and being challenged.
Pupils who progress quickly will be given the chance to experience
new challenges.
Q.
My Child is attending with friends or a relative. Can they be roommates?
A.
Ace Tennis Camps will attempt, to wherever possible fill such requests.
Ensure when booking this is specified in 'additional information'.
Q.
Does my child require spending money?
A.
Unlike most summer camps, all activities are included in the price,
therefore spending money is not required. However if pupils wish to
purchase items such as additional equipment (There will be a Camp
Shop) or have a racket restrung, then funds will be required to be held
in the Camp Bank. The pupils can access the bank at set times during
the day to withdraw money for an excursion or purchase at this time.

What equipment does my child need to bring to camp?
A.
All pupils need to bring at least one tennis racket and a pair of tennis
specific trainers. Shorts and t-shirts for five days of playing and coaching
plus casual clothing for evening activities and social events. One tracksuit
in case of rain would also be advised. Bed linen is provided, towels and
toiletries need to be brought. Nightwear is also recommended for all
pupils due to the nature of the dorms.

Can the pupils do Laundry?
A.
If possible the Camp would wish to avoid this, however if absolutely
necessary items can be washed on behalf of pupils in the Laundry area.
Q.
Are Single rooms available?
A.
Single rooms are available in small numbers, this would be on a first
come first served basis and need to be specified in the booking process.
Q.
Does the Camp cater for people with alternative diets i.e Vegetarians?
A.
The Dining Hall offers a wide selection of fresh and nutritious meals for
all diets. There are different meals served each day in the self service
area.
Q.
My child will be arriving by either train or plane, can they be
collected from their arrival point?
A.
Ace Tennis Camps is happy to collect any child from the airport or station
as long as sufficient notice is given to the Directors with detailed
information, flight number, arrival times, terminal etc. This is a no extra
cost service but is only available after speaking with one of the
Directors to confirm.
Q.
Can I come and visit my child during the Camp day?
A.
Ace welcomes all parents to view the tennis sessions, the courts are
easily accessible and there is a viewing gallery for most courts. However
all visit must be communicated to the directors in advance by phone or
email. Visitors must then report to the Directors for a grounds pass. This
is obviously to ensure everybody's safety.
Q.
My child wishes to attend the coaching and return home in the evening?
A.
Ace Tennis Camps encourages pupils to experience campus life, making
new friends, and enjoying the evening activities. If local to the Campus a
day camper rate of £500 is available which includes lunch. The Pupils
would arrive after breakfast daily and depart before dinner.
